Commercial tenants in Islington can now take advantage of purpose-built commercial steel buildings for their businesses, thanks to this recent property development.
Corcon, the commercial building contractors, oversaw the construction of three custom steel buildings in two phases for the project.
During the first stage of development, a restaurant, bar, and bottle store were constructed in close proximity. Later on, a retail block with five units and a health and fitness centre were added.
Once Corcon completed the initial stage, the tenants wasted no time starting their business activities. Corcon's project manager, Shaun Johnston, understood the importance of allowing those businesses to function without disruption from the ongoing construction.
Shaun says the challenge was enjoyable, "We have years of experience planning commercial building solutions in Christchurch. For this staged project, we preserved the tenants' need for uninterrupted daily trade and foot traffic during the second construction stage. Furthermore, the project's proximity to the railway line was taken into account by our traffic management services."
Corcon is a construction company based in Canterbury that specialises in providing bespoke commercial building solutions for property developers and business owners.
"Delivering quality commercial steel buildings in Christchurch contributes to the community and the economy. Special features of these buildings include a Conqueror PIR panel roof, which supplies a high level of insulation. Local businesses can set up shop in comfortable facilities that staff appreciate, and clients enjoy visiting," Shaun shares.
